The project entailed complete site development for a house that was built a few years earlier. Inspiration for the landscape design was drawn from the natural systems of the surroundings. A primary objective was to break the topographically challenging property down into garden "rooms" that relate to particular functions and create a sequential experience. A kidney-shaped swimming pool with an infinity edge flows into a sensational three-level waterfall. A large round whirlpool is elevated three steps and nestled into a boulder wall embedded with perennials. A whimsical lion-faced fountain is located at the foot of a free-form boulder staircase that leads up to a pergola with a swing. The elaborate plantings compliment the architecture to create an exceptional landscape that creates privacy and interest in each of the four seasons.
