After being vacant for 20 years, the historic former Bloomingdale's building was bought by a group of developers. They commissioned R.S. Granoff Architects for the adaptive reuse of the structure. Totaling 122,000 s.f., the renovated building has 2 floors of retail and 5 floors of live/work lofts. The apartments are similar to lofts in Manhattan's SoHo district - with 14-foot ceilings, views of Long Island Sound and spacious floor plans. Construction was completed in the winter of 2002.
