After a devastating fire leveled their home, the clients wanted to "re-build" the house they loved so much. Working with the existing foundation, the architects retained the spirit of the old house, while reinterpreting the layout, roofline and details. The entrance of the shingle and slate roof home is flanked by two massive stone chimneys. The grand entry hall, dining room and "Bedford" room are all entered through highly-detailed archways. The two-story living room, with beamed ceiling and antique limestone fireplace, captures the vistas of the beautiful property. The powder room is the most whimsical space in the house, with a groin-vault ceiling, glass tile mosaics and a birdbath pedestal sink.
