Two adjacent Park Avenue apartments become a single fully integrated home. The young couple who purchased the units wanted to combine them into one residence in the grand pre-war tradition. Both two-bedroom apartments were in terrible condition, and were gutted before being totally renovated. A new formal entry is the central axis which ties the spaces together. Newly installed traditional detailing throughout imparts a sense of elegance, and makes an attractive design connection between the apartment and the owner’s prized collection of Biedermeier furniture.
