GIAN COLANGELO

Gian (“John”) received a Masters of Architecture from the Columbia University in 2013. Prior to joining Granoff Architects, he worked in the offices of renowned New York City architect James Garrison and for real estate developer Cary Tamarkin. During this time, he has had the privilege of designing, and contributing to the designs, of many urban scale projects including multi- family dwellings and mixed-use spaces. He also has years of experience in his family’s architectural practices in the New York Metropolitan area where he worked on private residences.

In addition to design, Gian was responsible for soliciting variances and approvals from various city and state agencies as well as community boards. He has navigated the NYC Landmarks Preservation Committee, State Historic Preservation Office and Economic Development Corporation on various projects. Gian has worked with a wide variety of clients and consultants ranging from private equity partners to construction managers and marketing consultants and is capable of synthesizing and responding to a wide variety of perspectives. His multi-faceted experience has made him acutely aware of the architectural and economic components that contribute to a successful project. Gian was born and raised in Connecticut.
