John Torpy

A Fairfield County native, John’s passion for architecture started at an early age. He received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from Montana State University and his Masters of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 2014. Prior to Joining Granoff Architects, he worked under award-winning architect James Garrison for over 7 years, where he was quickly elevated to Associate.

He believes that great architecture is achieved in the details and enjoys being involved in all aspects of the design and construction process. Areas of experience include single family residential, hospitality and mixed-use residential, as well as navigating various state agencies, working closely with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, State Historic Preservation Office and the Department of State.

An avid skier and hiker, John enjoys getting outdoors whenever possible. He and his family live in his hometown of New Canaan.
